Every day someone (male or female) report sexual assault and take the risk of not being believed. We are working hard to change that reaction for ALL victims of sexual violence. I have worked with both male and female victims and applaud both for having the courage to come forward. Your response brought to my attention that I need to add resources to this site for men. In the meantime, check out a video entitled Boys and Men Healing. It is remarkable! I agree that it seems so basic, but unfortunately it is a serious problem. The fear of not being believed is a huge deterrant (even used by the abusers) to reporting the incident. Not being believed is almost as bad as the original violence and I am sure is a huge reason for so many (male and female) ending up victimized repeatedly.
