A man was walking along the beach when he noticed a boy pick something up and throw it into the ocean.  He asked the boy, “What are you doing?” He replied, “Throwing starfish back into the ocean. Otherwise they’ll die.”  “Son,” the man said, “there are hundreds of starfish.  You can’t make a differenc!”  The boy bent down, picked up another starfish, and threw it back into the surf.  Smiling he said, “I made a difference for that one.”     (Thank you to the folks at EVAW for sharing The Starfish Story.
